Ricky & the City

(photos by Francis Nweji)

Just a casual, weekend look, almost the complete opposite of last week's Easter outfit. Keeping it neutral in white, black, silver and hints of red.
The main attraction of course is my new Ricky bag!

**DISCLAIMER: This is lengthy, but i'm giving some advice about smart luxury shopping!**

Guys, I got this bag at such a CRAZY price. If you love to shop for luxury bags at great discounts, this gem probably tops the list of the greatest deals ever. I got it for 85% off retail! That is virtually UNHEARD of for a brand-new, never used before luxury "it" bag. Includes all original tags, dust bag, certificates/authenticity cards.
I saw it at Century 21 Downtown during summer 2015, and asked the sales associate for the price. Many people don't even bother inquiring about expensive things, but that's the biggest mistake! Don't be intimidated by the well-lit, glass display! Often times stores don't advertise when their pricey items are on sale and you won't know unless you ask!
Anywho, she muttered some bloodcurdling 4-digit number and I scurried away. Fast-forward to January 2016 when Century 21 was having their major store-wide sale, I saw that it was still there! So I inquired again, this time with more hope. And voila! The sales associate read a number from the tag that was in the 3-digits. Like, looooow three digits. I didn't believe her, so I looked at the tag myself. She was not lying, and I heard right. I whipped my card out so fast, almost as if I was afraid that anyone around could've heard the price too and was ready to snatch it from my hands.
Moral of the story: do not shy away from an associate if you see an expensive item that you like, especially at discount stores like Century 21. (Unless it is public knowledge that the likes of Barneys/Bergdorfs/Bloomingdales are having a sale, I wouldn't bother asking lol) In my experience, the best designer deals are found the old school way: in person, at the store. So get yourself off your computer once in a while and just go visit the nearest location. Or, travel. Don't let the distance of outlet malls and other store locations in other boroughs deter you.
