Half Full, Half Empty (NYFW)

(photos by Charlotte Noordsy)

Top: Club Monaco (sold out, similar here)
Skirt: Midget Giraffe (check out Zuvaa.com for more of their designs)
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (old)
Clutch: Proenza Schouler (old, similar)

This is what I wore for New York Fashion Week Day 3, and these photos were taken outside of the Mara Hoffman show.
The skirt was the central focus, and I kept all the other details neutral, but they are still statement pieces on their own. The neutral tones of the jacket (also worn as a top in my Midas Touch post), shoes and clutch however, prevented them from outshining the skirt. They kept the look fun, but are muted out by this vibrant asymmetrical Kente-print skirt. I discovered this skirt on Midget Giraffe's Instagram and stalked it for about two months. I finally purchased it when it first sold at their pop-up shop about a month ago and it came in just in time for Fashion Week.
What do you think? Would you wear this skirt?

A special thanks to Charlotte of The Little Orange Dress!
